From Kids To Adults: Fashion

Hé, Lovelies

From the itchy sweaters from your grandma to your favorite
slouchy jeans to your wedding attire. It's From Kids to Adults.
Since the day you were born, your mom or dad almost always picked out what clothes you were what day, and so on. By some lucky chance you may have got to pick what you wore to daycare. But, mostly no.

Growing older, you got to pick what you wanted to were to school or out to dinner with your family, but only after your parents approved of it and the article of clothing was purchased by them. You may have even been sent back to your room to find 'more appropriate clothing' when you really just want to wear sweats all day.

Of course, uniforms are also factored into the 'who chooses what I wear' category. Sports, band, even schools put restrictions on what you can and cannot wear. Although these regulations are good some of the time, they are annoying at others.

You don't have to worry about this after 18. Once high school is over, you are free to wear whatever you want whenever you want. Being modest and using a good sense of when to wear something or other is always a plus. If you're 18 or older, you should have this skill mastered by now.

Personally, I have always wanted to go to a private school that required uniforms. Call me crazy. Instead, I go to a public school that always has students who think it's okay to wear revealing tops and pants down at their knees. Um, not okay.

Some people may believe that schools are trying to put students into a cookie cutter outline by enforcing uniforms. This is not true. Uniforms minimize or get rid of all dress code violations in a school. Also, students are free to wear what they want out of school. Students should actually feel as if what they want to wear is a privilege in this circumstance. I don't feel as if my personal style is at all being threatened by the idea of school uniforms.

I know not everyone agrees with me, and that's fine. Everyone has their own opinions.

No matter, everyone's style is different. It changes as we grow.
