It's currently Thursday night a few minutes before 11pm.
My sister and her boyfriend pulled in a little bit ago. For a while, they were just sitting in his truck. When she finally got out she said, "Bye! Love you." This was no doubt in respond to him saying it first (as she was headed inside). I mean, sometimes you can just tell.
The real question I ask here is: Do you really? and Is it really love?
My personal stance on the whole 'I love you' is that it is overused and has lost the meaning it once held. And, honestly, how do you know that you love someone? What defines it? I don't know and I doubt that most people know.
I also think that it takes a whole lot of courage to think 'I love you' about someone let alone say it. It means that you have to let your guard down, be vulnerable. At the same time, you shouldn't say it if you don't mean it or say it because the other person did. You have to tell it straight. No lies.
Otherwise, you're not being fair to the other person with feelings in the relationship. You're not being fair with yourself either.
It's just not okay.
I have thought about it long and hard, and I won't be say those three special words until I am absolutely sure that I feel that way about a person. Hopefully, the guy will feel the same way.
I think relationships take time to mature and that too many people rush into things. I don't believe in love at first sight, but I do believe in an instant connection. There is a difference.
